Memorial Cloth

During the APTN Live Broadcast on the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, taking place on September 30 on Parliament Hill, the sacred Memorial Cloth - with the names of children who did not return home from Residential Schools - will be presented.

The Memorial Cloth holds deep significance and is a powerful part of this production. Survivors, students, volunteers and community members will carry the cloth through the crowd to the stage in a moving and meaningful tribute, and represents an extremely important and profound part of this day.

A rehearsal will take place following registration at approximately 10:00 a.m. A second run-through may occur around noon, and volunteers will return at 2:30 p.m. to prepare for the live broadcast

Please click here to learn more on the Memorial Cloth.

Please note: Many of the volunteer roles may also offer the opportunity to help carry the Memorial Cloth, should additional volunteers be needed. Below is the tentative schedule for the Memorial Cloth.
