Topic: Mi’gwidelmag gnitjgamitj

Inspired by Incident at Restigouche (Alanis Obomsawin, 1984), Mi’gwidelmag Gnitjgamitj is a short essay film that captures the beautiful landscapes of Listuguj, but a dark side of Canada. The film focuses on director Nation Isaac’s grandfather’s experience of the 1981 Quebec Provincial Police raid of Listuguj, and on her own relationship to his life and legacy.

NCTR's spirit name - bezhig miigwan, meaning "one feather".

Bezhig miigwan calls upon us to see each Survivor coming to the NCTR as a single eagle feather and to show those Survivors the same respect and attention an eagle feather deserves. It also teaches we are all in this together — we are all one, connected, and it is vital to work together to achieve reconciliation.
